Scott Morton - Assistant Principal

After graduating with a MMath from Durham University, Scott completed his teacher training through Teach First. Beginning in inner-city Leeds, Scott quickly demonstrated his ability to make a significant impact on the educational experiences and outcomes of his students.

During this time, Scott continued his life-long love of learning, studying for an MA in Educational Leadership at Manchester, and an MSc in Learning & Teaching at Oxford. In June 2015, after engaging in extensive leadership development, he led his team to secure record outcomes for students in GCSE Mathematics.

In January 2016, Scott joined OGAT as a Lead Teacher of Maths, before being appointed an Associate Assistant Principal where he led the professional development of staff in the early stages of their careers (ITT/NQT/RQT), alongside an academy-wide programme of CPD that developed best-practice in teaching and learning.

Scott believes passionately that all students should have access to an outstanding education, irrespective of their background, starting point or postcode. He is excited to join Outwood Academy City and lead the Deep Experience team, ensuring that the curriculum, enrichment opportunities, and careers guidance empower students to realise their aspirations; alongside developing young leaders and role models through the student council and pledges initiative.
