Having completed a degree in Religion and Theology at the University of Manchester, Donna moved to Sheffield to complete her PGCE in Religious Studies at Sheffield Hallam University. Donna began her teaching career in 2008 at Wickersley School and Sports College, as a teacher of RE, Head of General Studies and with responsibility for staff training. She then moved to Hope Valley College in Derbyshire, as Head of R.E. Taking the position of Head of Humanities at Outwood Academy Portland, Donna worked with the Deep Learning team to become an outstanding academy, achieving excellent results. Donna held a wide variety of roles within the Deep Learning Team, including Student Voice Coordinator, SMSC Coordinator, providing bespoke teacher training, and development of the learning structures. Donna secured the role of Associate Assistant Principle within the Deep Learning team in 2016.
In December 2017, Donna moved to Outwood Academy City where she is currently Associate Assistant Principal, within the Deep Learning team, where she has responsibility for providing staff training, helping teachers improve their teaching and learning skills. Donna is currently teaching Life, Citizenship and Health and Social Care.
