Although formal lessons end at 2:30pm, students can then choose from a range of enrichment activities and clubs, typically running from 2:30 to 3:30pm.
There are over 30 to choose from each week. Examples include craft club, cookery, jewellery making, plus catch-up and revision sessions in many subjects. Many students also take part in a diverse range of sporting clubs and activities, including football, rugby, cricket, basketball, tennis and athletics. These activities lead to individuals and teams representing the Academy at both local and district level. Furthermore, students in Years 9, 10 and 11 have the opportunity to become qualified sports leaders through nationally recognised programmes.
